We put the patients first!

Michelle

Michelle L.

Clinic Manager

Michelle began working in the veterinary industry when she was a student and has had the opportunity to work in a variety of different roles over the years. As one of our receptionists, Michelle’s mission is to make visits to the vet as welcoming and stress-free as possible for both pets as well as their owners. It is her top priority to ensure that every pet receives the care he or she needs, and that clients feel supported and informed every step of the way.

Michelle recently joined the Aldershot Animal Hospital team and has quickly settled in. She feels grateful to be working with a crew that values preventive care and client education, and that truly cares for patients as if they were their own. Her favorite part of the job is getting to know clients and learning about the unique personalities of their pets. She’s always eager to hear their funny stories and learn about their latest adventures!

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys going for hikes with friends and family (don’t forget to check for ticks afterwards!). She’s also an avid skier and so far, has visited twelve different ski resorts in Canada and the US!

Erica

Erica

Veterinary Assistant

Born and raised in Burlington, Erica grew up loving animals, but unlike many of her colleagues, she didn’t have her eyes set on a career in the veterinary industry until later. After several years of working in human medicine, Erica came to the realization that her preferred patient was furry and four-legged, so she changed gears, and the rest is history! As a veterinary assistant, she feels she’s truly found her calling.

Prior to becoming part of the Aldershot family, Erica got her feet wet as a veterinary receptionist. Eager to learn as much as she could, she quickly climbed the ladder to the assistant position, where she spent a decade honing her craft before joining the Aldershot Animal Hospital team in November of 2023. Clinically, Erica has a special interest in cytology and finds looking under the microscope fascinating.

At home, Erica is cat-mom to two grey litter mates named Necro and Primrose. When Necro was born, the umbilical cord was wrapped around his feet. Unfortunately, one paw became necrotic (hence his name) and had to be removed. You would never know he’s missing it the way he chases Primrose around the house all day! In her free time, Erica enjoys going to the beach, hiking, rollerblading, and traveling.

Kayla

Kayla

Veterinary Assistant

As a dedicated veterinary professional, Kayla found her calling in the compassionate care of animals. From an early age, her love of animals was obvious, and this passion led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Kayla is driven by a deep sense of empathy and a genuine desire to provide the best possible care for every furry, feathered, or scaled patient that crosses her path. With a strong foundation in veterinary science and a heart filled with empathy, Kalya continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their human companions.

Upon enrolling in college, Kayla immersed herself in the rigorous study of veterinary science, gaining a solid foundation in the principles of animal health and welfare. This academic endeavor not only honed her knowledge but also fueled her determination to pursue a career devoted to the wellbeing of animals. To complement her studies, Kayla seized the opportunity to engage in invaluable placement experiences, allowing her to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings and further cultivate her skills under the guidance of seasoned professionals.

After spending two enriching years honing her expertise and cultivating a deep understanding of the multifaceted nature of veterinary care, Kayla’s journey led her closer to home and she joined Aldershot Animal Hospital in March of 2024. Clinically, she has a special interest in diagnostics—particularly drawing blood and working in the lab. Beyond this, Kayla takes great pleasure in educating, guiding, and empowering clients about how to manage their pets’ health and wellness beyond the clinic walls.

Outside of work, Kayla resides with her boyfriend and their furry companions—one cat and one dog. Over time, the two have formed an endearing bond. Witnessing them playfully looking out of the window together brings Kayla immense joy and exemplifies the harmony they’ve found in each other’s company. While they are still navigating the art of cuddling with each other, it’s evident that their mutual affection is blossoming as they continue to forge an inseparable bond.

Lindsay “Frankie”

Lindsay “Frankie”

Registered Veterinary Technician

Lindsay has been around animals since she was a young child; she fondly recalls her grandmother who worked as a manager at a pet food store. She enjoyed seeing her grandmother interact with pet owners and educating them, and knew that was something she could see herself doing in the future. Now she’s a registered veterinary technician at Aldershot Animal Hospital and loving it!

After years of schooling at Seneca College and Algonquin College, and training at various vet clinics, Lindsay was able to equip herself with the knowledge and experience to help animals and their owners the same way her grandmother was. Besides the client education aspect of the job, Lindsay enjoys working with senior dogs and cats. She looks forward to making their visits as relaxing and stress-free as possible. She also likes being around her current staff at the animal hospital, as they all compliment each other very well.

Even when she’s not busy tending to animals at the hospital, Lindsay has plenty of pets at home that keep her occupied. She has a cockapoo named Wrigley Banks and a cocker spaniel named Maisie Smalls.

Whenever Lindsay has some free time to herself, you can catch her outside. Whether she’s playing at the park with her son, hiking with her dogs, canoeing on the water, or just enjoying a nice breeze on her hammock, she absolutely loves being outdoors!
