Resolutions For Confused Cats

January 1, 2022

Happy New Year! Your feline pal will be right there with you as you strive to meet your 2022 goals, even if she doesn’t understand the concept of resolutions … or, for that matter, New Year’s Day itself. Actually, there are quite a few things Fluffy doesn’t really get. Read on as a Burlington, ON vet lists some resolutions for confused furballs.

Catch That Red Dot

Fluffy may look cute and innocent, but she is actually a fierce predator. Your kitty may spend a chunk of the coming year trying to catch that elusive red spot, and another part of the year just trying to figure out what her mysterious prey actually is. Help your furry friend try to make this goal by taking time to play with her every day. Even a few minutes of pouncing and jumping will be good for her, both physically and mentally.

Get Out Of Veterinary Appointments

Coming to see us is definitely in your kitty’s best interest. However, Fluffy doesn’t understand that. She also isn’t really clear on why she has to get put in her carrier, brought on a car ride, and then taken into an exam room. Be sure to bring your cat in for regular appointments .. regardless of her opinion on the matter.

Find The Lost Toys

Have you ever brought a new plaything home for Fluffy, only to have her immediately push it under the couch? Your playful pet may be wondering where all her catnip mice have gone! Be sure to replace those missing playthings regularly.

Perfect Osmosis

Have you ever found your furry bff snoozing on a book or magazine? Fluffy may be trying to learn by absorption. Her chances of mastering this skill are pretty low, but that won’t stop her from trying!

Help The Human

Kitties are very thoughtful, and they do try to lend a helping paw when they can. Fluffy may ‘assist’ with things like changing sheets or wrapping gifts … even if she doesn’t get the point.

Fix The Dog

Fluffy and Fido can cohabitate peacefully, but don’t forget that they don’t speak the same language. Fido actually does what he’s told, enjoys car rides, and refuses to use the litterbox. None of that makes sense to our feline buddies, of course!
