Resolutions Inspired by Pets

January 1, 2020

Happy New Year! Are you making resolutions this year? If so, your pet may be a wonderful source of inspiration for you. As it turns out, our furry pals can set some really great examples for us. Read on as a Burlington, ON vet lists some resolutions inspired by pets.

Get Lots Of Sleep

If there is one thing we can learn from our four-legged friends, it’s the importance of getting enough rest. Fluffy can sleep up to 20 hours a day, while Fido somehow gets by on an average of 12 to 14 hours. While you probably don’t need that much shuteye, it is important to always get a good night’s sleep.

Try Something New

Our furry friends are very curious, and like to investigate things. Dogs love going to parks or exploring new trails. As for Fluffy, she’ll happily check out anything new you bring home, such as boxes.

Play

One of the best things about our animal companions is the fact that they provide us with live entertainment. Pet playtime may be just as fun for you as it is for your furry buddy! Spend lots of time playing with your pet this year, and pick up new toys for them regularly.

Stay Active

Although, like us, pets slow down as they age, they’re quite active when they are young. Even older dogs and cats have their moments of friskiness. If you’ve made a resolution to get fit this year, why not incorporate Fido into your routine? Fluffy may not be a very good workout buddy, but she can remind you of the importance of stretching and staying flexible.

Be Yourself

Our four-legged friends are full of adorable—and also hilarious–quirks. Fido doesn’t care if you laugh at his playful antics, and Fluffy certainly won’t lose sleep knowing you giggle at her odd sleeping positions. Be yourself!

Spend Time With Loved Ones

You’re the apple of your pet’s eye, and the center of their universe. Given the option, your furry best friend would love to hang out with you all day, every day. This can be a great inspiration. Be sure to spend time with your loved ones, including your pet!
